swimming

So I’m waiting for Andy to pick me up so that we can go swimming.  I’m so hot right now, it’s going to feel so nice.  We’re going to his house with some of his friends.  This heat is rediculous.  We’re supposed to get a thunderstorm this afternoon, so I hope it holds off until after we’re done in the pool…

This is my last blog of the year.  It’s nice because I feel like I’m tying up the loose ends of a project.  On the other hand, it’s sort of sad.  I mean, this blog contains information about events in my life that are a big deal right now.  When I’m thirty, I could look back at what I wrote and either be like, “Wow, those were some good times,” or, “Wow, I was stupid.”  Either way, this is a recording of part of my Junior year in high school.  High school is supposed to be some of the best years of your life.  I hope when I see this again I’ll think of that.

new girl at work

So there’s this new girl at my work.  Her name is Brianna.  When I met her last weekend, she didn’t seem so bad… then I talked to her.

She told me that she’s a sophomore at Glens Falls High School, so I was like, Oh my boyfriend goes there too.  So she asked me what his name was, and when I told her, she starts doing this high-pitched giggle and says, “I know him, well, kind of.  I know who he is anyway.”  I thought it was kind of weird because she was giggling so badly so later in the shift I brought him up again.  I said, “So, you know my boyfriend?”  and she was like “Well, yeah, kind of, he goes to my school.  He’s a Senior, right?”  I was like, Yeah.  Then she went on to tell me who his close friends were, what sport he played, and where he sits at lunch.  I was like, what the hell, freak!  Are you stalking him or something?  But I didn’t actually say that (since I have to work with her and all).  Then she said, “So how did you wind up with someone from Glens Falls?”  I said, “Oh, he works here and we started dating last summer.”  So she was like, “How long have you been together?” and I said “nine and a half months.”  She started giggling AGAIN and then was like “So you must be getting sick of him, right?”  No, actually I’m not bitch.

If you had just heard her…. AHHH!  This girl Kate I work with was like, “Stupid whore.  At least Andy won’t do anything.”  Oh well.  Seeing as I’ve been there so long, I can just make her do gross work that will make her smell bad.

IT’S HOT!!!

Right now it’s about 100 degrees in the school.  The media center is packed because it’t the only room in the whole school that seems to be air conditioned.  I’m burning up and it seems like there’s no relief.  Plus, I have a sun burn on my shoulders and across the top of my back.  Sunday, after I got out of work, I went to Andy’s to go swimming.  His mom bought me my own pool-side chair because she only had 3 (for her, Andy, and his brother).  She also got me a floating chair for in the pool and 3 noodles because they are my favorite pool things.

But seriously, I can’t believe how hot it is.  I’m running out of tank tops to wear, not to mention the fact that I don’t have a single pair of shorts that I can wear to school.  Nobody makes shorts anymore that follow the dress code.  There are only 2 more days of school left after today, but they are going sooo slowly.  First of all, I didn’t do ANYTHING at all during my morning classes.  Add in the heat and it makes the day miserable.  This afternoon we’re doing locker clean out, but it doesn’t seem like it’s time to do it yet.  None of my afternoon teachers have stopped doing regular classes yet so by 7th period, it feels like a normal day, not the last week of school.  Tomorrow and Thursday we’re going to be in lock-down, so no one can go anywhere except their classes.  At least it’s going to be cooler.

Summer!!

So you can really tell that it’s the end of the schoolyear.  It’s getting really nice outside and everyone’s wearing shorts and tank tops.  Year books came out yesterday, another mark that school’s almost out.  We only have two full weeks from yesterday left of regular classes and I only have to go in two days for tests.  I can’t wait for summer to be here, it’s my favorite time of the year.  I love it because there is so much freedom in everything.  I can’t wait to go swimming, walk around Lake George at night, and to have no homework.

Another thing I love are the fireworks that they have in Lake George every Thursday.  I can see them from the deck at my work and sometimes after we close the restaurant up for the evening we go and watch them for a few minutes.  When I don’t have to work I can watch them from my Nana’s house because she lives right on the lake and has a perfect view of the fireworks.  Fireworks are really amazing.  They are so pretty and they never get old.

Summer is so alive.  So many things are happening.  Both my and my dad’s birthdays are in the summer, there are always bonfires, camping, and concerts.

The only thing I don’t like as much is the fact that I have to work.  But I make good tips, like the people I’m with, and get to see Andy all the time, so I guess it’s okay.

I can’t wait for summer to get here, it’s my favorite time of year.  Plus, it’s the last one we have before the summer that we all have to go to college…YAY

yesterday, today, tomorrow

So last night was our chorus concert.  I had to sing 17 songs.  We did one girls’ piece for the whole chorus, eight or nine select choir pieces (one was also a girls’ piece), and the rest were in regular chorus.  All of our chorus songs were rearranged so that each one flowed into the next.  We did two songs for Tim (a girls’ and a guys’ open to the whole chorus) and “All You Need Is Love” for that little girl, Natalie, in Corinth who has cancer.  It was a great concert and nothing embarrassing happened to me.  I think everyone who went enjoyed it.  But, of course, just before we went on, the BP had to make sure that she told everyone to be careful and, “guys, you have to hold the door when you walk out!”  Duh, we’re not idiots, but thanks for telling us, I was gonna let the door go so that I got hit with it on my way out.

At the end of the concert, the funniest thing happened to Doug.  We were all in the cafeteria and he was sitting on the table.  So Geneva comes over and taps him on the shoulder.  He looks up and gives him a thumbs-up.  Doug is thinking she means good job, so he says, “Thank you!”  Then, Geneva says, “No- get off the table.”  It was the funniest thing ever, Doug was so embarrassed.

My family and I all went to Stewart’s to get ice cream.  The Streeters, Doug, Curtis, and Christina Gurney were all there too.  At one point, I look over and see Doug doing this weird dancing thing.  I was just about to shout to him, “Are you immitating Christina Gurney salsa dancing?”, when I remembered that she was over there with them!  It would have been really bad.  Apparantly, he was pretending to be Mrs. Seeley salsa dancing.  The whole idea of what could have happened made me laugh really hard.

This morning, we were all in chorus and Mrs. Hastings was telling us how well we did last night.  She was saying how much everybody loved it when the BP says, “Mrs. Hastings, my grandmother knewall of the songs we sang!”  I looked at Catie Love and sayed, “Yaay!”  She started laughing really hard and that made me laugh.  Neither of us could stop for like 10 minutes.

I can’t wait for this weekend… I’m just ready for this week to be over.  Andy and I are going to our friend Luke’s house tonight.  Then we’re going out for ice cream.  Tomorrow, we both have to work, but once we get out, we’re going to just hang out and do whatever.  We’re going to the drive-ins that night and then he’ll stay over.  I’m kind of excited because tomorrow he and I will have been dating for 9 months <3.

Wisdom Teeth

I really can’t think of anything to write, so I’m going to tell you about my wisdom teeth.

I had them pulled over vacation, on Monday.  It was the worst thing.  They had to put the IV in and then they sent anesthesia through it.  They said to me, “Okay, you’re going to fall asleep in about thirty seconds.”  Andy and my mom were walking out as I replied, “Um, I don’t feel anything.”  Then, everything started to get dark and I felt like my body was flipping over.  I said to the doctor, “I think I’m just gonna close my eyes for a minute…” and then I passed out.

I don’t really remember what happened when I woke up, but I do know that I asked the doctor something that had to do with the Tooth Fairy.  I remember not being able to feel my face at all.  My mom had to buy me a milkshake because I couldn’t eat anything else.  I’m not really sure what happened the rest of the week because I was on so much medication.  It made me really tired and kind of crazy.  Andy compared me to a drunk chipmunk.

If you ever have to get your wisdom teeth pulled, I feel really bad for you.

My Dream

I had the weirdest dream last night.  I have no idea where it came from.

I was at school for a concert, but it wasn’t a regular concert.  I was talking to this blond girl (she was this girl Meg that I had worked with last summer) who was opening the curtain for the stage.  She was telling me how she was 3 months pregnant and that it was a secret, so don’t tell anyone.  Then, the lights in the auditorium were flickering on and off, so someone came over the announcements and said that the concert was cancelled.  Everyone who was in the concert, including me, began to filter into the main part of the school, where we all apparently lived.  I was walking by the doors near the cafeteria when I saw my mom, so I went over to see her.  This woman Shannon who goes to my church appeared in front of me and said that we all had to go back to our rooms, no talking to anyone in the halls, so I told her that I had to talk to my mom, and she let me go.  When I went out to the hall where all the parents were my mom and my boyfriend were standing, waiting for me.  I was talking to them when I noticed this man who looked like my Papa standing nearby.  I turned to get a better look at him, but it wasn’t him; it was somebody else.  I started to cry because I knew my Papa was dead and that he would never come to any of my concerts anymore, but also because I had thought it was him and it wasn’t.  My boyfriend tried to comfort me, but I was really upset over how much I had thought it was him and what a let down it was.

I woke up then and realized that I was actually crying in real life.

This whole thing sucks because something similar to that (mostly the end of it) could actually happen.  Especially because my Papa went to all of my concerts, and now he obviously can’t, so the next one I have is going to suck.
